SOUNDS FROM DENMARK
A growing collection of music from Denmark, highlighting recent releases, experimental gems, and standout records.
Copenhagen-based duo miaw create a unique brand of electro-pop, often taking influence from UK-bass music. Formed by Frederik Fog Bruun (Denmark) and Liza Dries (Netherlands), the project came to be when they were living in Cologne, and they released their debut EP in 2024. Their most recent single ‘moving in’ continues to explore this textured approach of experimental pop, driven largely by Liza’s angelic vocals. Miaw strike a really nice balance of warmth and hypnotic instrumentals—music that exists for both contemplating and dancing.
Label: purr records (Copenhagen).

The breezy pop of Copenhagen artist Fine is warmly delivered in a blanket of simplicity, reverb and nostalgia. On her debut LP ‘Rocky Top Ballads’, Fine Glindvad Jensen’s vocals glisten above guitar-driven melodies and spacious arrangements. It’s stripped back and entirely vulnerable, resulting in an emotive collection of soft pop-rock tracks. This one has been steadily on repeat for approximately eighteen months and still isn’t showing any signs of tiring.
Label: Escho (Copenhagen).

Danish composer and producer Marie Louis Buch (aka ML Buch) hasn’t released much music since her sophomore LP ‘Suntub’, but fortunately for us, her artistic approach continues to resonate. Blending soft-rock with experimental dream-pop, Buch creates atmospheric tracks that move slowly, building with impact. Her mesmerising vocals have the ability to transport you somewhere else. Hypnotic guitar arrangements are present on most tracks, providing a steadiness and space for the listener to truly absorb her artistry.
Label: 15 Love (Copenhagen).
